Gear that gets used.
Zugo makes the everyday stuff for dogs, cats, fish and reptiles. 443 products, made to survive being loved badly.
They all do something different.
Tap one. Each of these does something different, and that is the whole point of the range.
The plushes that aren't just plushes.
Most soft toys get squeaked twice and abandoned under the couch. These two have a job.
Rollie

The toilet roll they have always wanted to get hold of, except this one is meant to be shredded. It unrolls properly, and there are treats hidden along the way for them to find. You load it, roll it back up in about ten seconds, and hand it over. Getting through it takes them a good deal longer than that.
Drag to unroll it
Quackshot

Thumb in the beak. Grab the rope at the back end and pull. The further you stretch it the more the duck complains. Let go and it takes off across the garden like it has somewhere urgent to be. This is the one that gets launched by people who swear they are not interested in plush toys.
Hold to stretch the rope. Let go to launch.
Spread it. Watch dinner take a lot longer.
Three textured mats and one slow feeder bowl. Spread something soft into the grooves or tip kibble around the cone. Either way a meal that used to vanish in thirty seconds turns into something they have to work at.
Drag across it and spread something
- 🥜Peanut butterCheck the label and make sure there is no xylitol in it.
- 🥛Greek yoghurtPlain and unsweetened. Freezes beautifully.
- 🥫Wet food or raw foodStraight from the tin or the tub. Their own dinner counts.
- 🎃Mashed pumpkinCooked and plain. Cheap and gentle on the stomach.
- 🍌Fruit that suits dogsBanana, blueberries, seedless watermelon or apple with the pips taken out. Never grapes or raisins.
Spread it and freeze it for two hours and it will last a lot longer. Have a word with your vet first if your dog has a sensitive stomach or any allergies.
Straight answers.
Which toys survive a serious chewer?
The rubber range, and within it the Crisp Carrot and the Zuhog are the toughest things we make. Rope holds up well to tugging but not to a dog who sits down and systematically unpicks it. Plush is for carrying and treat work, not demolition. No toy is indestructible, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something.
Can Lickiline mats go in the freezer?
Yes, and they should. Spread it, freeze it for two hours, and the same amount of food lasts several times longer. It is the cheapest upgrade in the range, given the freezer was already in the kitchen doing nothing.
Are all your toys made for chewing?
No, and it matters. The EVA foam range, the Loop Ring and Aeroglide, along with the Quackshot, are made for interaction and fetch. Throw it, chase it, bring it back, hang it up, do it again tomorrow. They are not chew toys and they will not pretend to be. If your dog treats every toy as something to take apart, go to the rubber.
Where do I buy Zugo?
Online, and in most shops with decent taste. The stockist finder will point you at the closest one, and any shop that carries Zugo can order in anything they do not have on the shelf.
Are the aquarium and reptile ornaments safe in water?
Yes. They are resin with non toxic aquarium safe paint. Rinse them in hot water before the first use and skip the soap unless you are going to rinse it thoroughly.

Six things worth your time.

Dinner, but slower.
Spread something soft into the texture and a thirty second meal turns into a much longer one. Good for gulpers. Good for crate time and bath time and the twenty minutes before you walk out the door.

Three mats and a bowl.
15-07001Quadfeast
Four walled sections with a different texture in each one. Waves. Beads. Honeycomb. Rings.
15-07002Calmcrate
Raised crosses around a dotted centre disc. Shallow and quiet. The crate and settling down mat.
15-07003Bonegrid
Bones locked together edge to edge. The most texture of the flat mats so the slowest going.
15-07004Volcano
The odd one out. A bowl with a lava cone in the middle and pockets they have to eat their way around.
Safe things to spread
- Everyday Plain Greek yoghurt, wet food, raw food, mashed cooked pumpkin or plain mashed banana.
- Peanut butter Only if the label shows no xylitol, also written as birch sugar or E967. Xylitol is toxic to dogs even in tiny amounts.
- Fruit that is fine Banana, blueberries, seedless watermelon flesh, apple with the core and pips removed.
- Never Grapes, raisins, sultanas, onion, garlic, chocolate, macadamias, anything with xylitol, and cooked bones of any kind.
- Go easy on Dairy generally. Many dogs handle plain yoghurt fine but a lot are lactose intolerant, so start small.
- Hot days Spread it, freeze for two hours, hand it over outside.
- Cleaning Top rack of the dishwasher, or a soft brush and warm soapy water. Rinse it properly.
Portion it as part of the daily food rather than on top of it, and check with your vet before introducing anything new if your pet has allergies, pancreatitis, a sensitive stomach or is on a prescription diet. If you are not sure about an ingredient, leave it out.

We make the boring stuff properly.
Bowls. Beds. Brushes. Poop bags. Rope toys. Tank ornaments. None of it wins design awards. All of it gets used every single day, which is exactly why it is worth getting right.
We are South African, and we make things for how people here actually live. Dogs that spend the day outside in Highveld heat. Bowls that survive a tiled kitchen floor. Toys that go to the beach and come back full of sand.
A toy that lasts a year beats twelve that do not. Better for your money, better for the landfill. We would rather show that in the products than write a page about it, so this is as much of a manifesto as you are getting.
